Cathodic protection data monitoring

The ICL-02i measures potential and induced AC voltage on the pipeline and AC & DC coupon current, which is widely used to assess corrosion propensity of the pipeline. Evaluation of corrosion risk based on the electrical parameters is however complicated and time consuming. The electrical as well as the soil parameters often vary considerably over time, so random measurements is of limited value.

The use of ER coupons constitutes a direct measurement of any corrosion taking place on the coupon. The coupon accumulates corrosion over time and the measurement accounts for all variations in the corrosion conditions.

The ICL-02i measures corrosion rate and the electrical pipeline parameters. More about ICL-02i

A direct measurement of the corrosion rate using ER coupon incorporates all parameters whether electrical or chemical.
